Mauricio Palos’ “La Ley del Monte” video installation will be shown at the Bronx Documentary Center as part of their Latin American Foto Festival!

Opening Reception Thursday, July 12th, 7 - 9PM. Free and open to all.

“This video was made following the stories of the Mayan prayer Sixto Poot and the repopulation of Tihosuco, Quintana Roo, sport and community hunters in the state of Yucatan, Mayan rapper Jesus Pat Chablé Pat Boy Rap Maya, Bernardino Hernandez, photojournalist at the port of Acapulco, Guerrero, Enrique Juárez, florist of funerals of Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua and the battles of Peribán de Ramos, Tancitaro and Apatzingan by members of the self-defense groups in the state of Michoacán,” says Palos. 

“These stories are part of La Ley del Monte; this idea of Mexican revolution that states that the laws of the land always belong to the most powerful.”
